Saga Closes On TV Sales, Apex Purchase
Saga Communications, Inc. announced that as of September 1, 2017 it had closed on the previously announced sale of its television stations in Joplin, MO and Victoria, TX to the Evening Telegram Company, d/b/a Morgan Murphy Media for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $66.6 million. Effective on that same date, Saga also completed the previously reported $23 million purchase of the Apex Media stations in Charleston and Hilton Head-Bluffton-Beaufort, SC.
The brand new Charleston Radio Group consists of WXST (Star 99.7), WMXZ (Mix 95.9), WCKN (92.5 Kickin’ Country), WAVF (Chuck 101.7) and WSPO-AM (Heaven 1390) and translators W261DG and W257BQ. The new Lowcountry Radio Group in Hilton Head consists of WVSC (SC103), WLHH (104.9 The Surf) and WOEZ (formerly WALI) and translators W256CB and W293BZ.
