MusiCares Names New Leaders

The MusiCares Foundation® — an affiliated charity of the Recording Academy™ — announced new elected leadership and Board members. The MusiCares® Board elected former Vice Chair Michael McDonald, Founder and CEO of Mick Management as Chair; Board member Kirdis Postelle, SVP, Warner Bros. Records, as Vice Chair; and Board member James Higa, Executive Director, Philanthropic Ventures Foundation, as Secretary/Treasurer. MusiCares’ departing Chair Alexandra Patsavas, Founder, Chop Shop Music Supervision, has been named Chair Emeritus.

Now, please welcome newly elected MusiCares Foundation Board members Steve Boom, VP, Amazon Music; Ambrosia Healy, EVP/Head of Media Strategy and Relations, Capitol Music Group; Jeff Jones, CEO, Apple Corps Ltd.; and Carianne Marshall, Partner and Head of Creative Licensing, SONGS Music Publishing.

“A vibrant board is the lifeblood for a nonprofit, and since the Recording Academy established MusiCares in 1989, we have been fortunate to have dedicated and passionate Board members,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of the Recording Academy and MusiCares. “Our new members and elected leaders, along with our current members, are continuing this tradition of enlightened stewardship. They bring fresh ideas and commitment to their roles, which along with our tried and true programs and events, keep MusiCares strong and able to provide critical resources to members of the music community in crisis.” MusiCares was established by the Recording Academy to offer confidential preventative, recovery, and emergency programs to address financial, medical, and personal health issues.
