Labrozzi Named PD of WABC & WNBM/NY
• UPDATED: It’s official — as first reported earlier today by RAMP, Cumulus Media has named Dave Labrozzi as the new Program Director of News-Talk WABC and Urban AC WNBM (Radio 103.9)/New York, replacing Craig Schwalb and Ken Johnson, respectively. Labrozzi most recently programmed Hot AC WPLJ/New York until 7pm last Friday, when its transfer to Educational Media Foundation (EMF) went into effect and the station signed off after 48 years.
Chad Lopez, VP/Market Manager of Cumulus New York, said, “Dave will be an incredible asset to 77 WABC and Radio 103.9/WNBM-FM, and brings experience in both the News-Talk and Urban AC formats to his new role with Cumulus New York. We are looking forward to continuing to grow these stations and to giving their passionate listeners even more of the content and community connection that they rely on and enjoy every day.”
Labrozzi joined WPLJ exactly one year ago, transitioning from a 14-year run with Entercom Baltimore, where he was VP of Programming of the four-station cluster. Prior to that, he was RVP of Programming for Clear Channel/iHeartMedia, overseeing Pittsburgh, Wheeling, WV and Johnstown, PA. Labrozzi’s career also includes programming stops in Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, TX as well as Nashville.
Labrozzi said, “I’m honored and thrilled to lead programming at 77 WABC and Radio 103.9/WNBM, and look forward to working with the powerhouse teams at these incredible stations to do great things together. I want to thank Chad Lopez, Dave Milner, Mike McVay and Brian Philips for giving me this tremendous opportunity.”
