Carter Upped To APD/PM @ KDMX/Dallas
• iHeartMedia Hot AC KDMX (102.9 Now)/Dallas-Ft. Worth announces two staff moves, starting with night jock Carter (no relation), who has been elevated to APD and afternoon drive, effective Dec. 3. “I’m thrilled to have Carter transition to afternoon drive host on 102.9 Now,” said PD Jay Shannon. “Carter has a true connection with our listeners and his upbeat personality really makes him the perfect fit.”
Carter’s extensive radio resume includes a PD stint at iHeartMedia Top 40 KWTX/Waco, TX and on-air stops at iHeartMedia Top 40s KJYO (KJ103)/Oklahoma City and WFLZ/Tampa, Cox Media Top 40WAPE/Jacksonville and Cumulus Top 40 WWWQ (Q100)/Atlanta. He began his career at WBGG (Big 105.9)/Miami.
Carter remarked, “I enjoyed working nights on 102.9 Now, but to say I’m excited to transition to afternoon drive would be an understatement. Now, I will finally be able to attend all of the great concerts that come to the Dallas-Fort Worth area and I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter.” Carter succeeds Freddy Rivera, who has left the company.
• Concurrent with Carter’s upgrade to afternoons, 102.9 Now has filled its 7-midnight vacancy with company vet Brooke Morrison (left), who was previously heard on Top 40 sisters WHQC (Channel 96.1)/Charlotte and KSLZ (Z107.7)/St. Louis. She got her first radio break working at 88.1KCOU/Columbia, MO on the campus of the University of Missouri.
