Done Deal: Kage To KPTT/Denver

• We initially reported this news on Sunday, and now it’s a done deal — iHeartMedia Denver has named market vet John E. Kage as the new Program Director of Top 40 KPTT (95.7 The Party).

Kage crosses the street after 2 1/2 years as PD of Bonneville Country KYGO. He will report to JoJo Turnbeaugh, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Denver, who commented, “I’ve known John for a number of years and we’re fortunate to have a programmer of his caliber leading 95.7 The Party.” Tim Hager, Region President of iHeartMedia Denver, said, “We’re excited to welcome John to the iHeartMedia Denver family. There’s no question that John’s programming acumen and history in our market will help propel 95.7 The Party to new heights.”

Kage started his career at KDWB/Minneapolis and notably spent seven years as PD and Digital Content Director for Entercom Top 40 KQKS (KS107.5)/Denver until November 2015, when he relocated to Tampa as Director of Branding for Cox Media Group Top 40 WPOI (Hot 101.5). Nine months later, Kage returned to the Mile High City as PD of KYGO.

“I’m excited to remain in my adopted home of Denver, Colorado where I have 20 years of deep roots and relationships,” Kage said. “iHeartMedia’s unparalleled platforms provide a tremendous opportunity for present and future growth in a rapidly changing environment. I look forward to working with my team to help contribute to 95.7 The Party’s ongoing success.”
