T.J. Martell Goin’ Fishin’

• Attention fisher folks! The T.J. Martell Foundation for Cancer Research announced the second annual New York Classic Tournament at North Cove Marina in New York and official After Party at PJ Clarkes on Thursday, May 9, hosted by Bob McLynn of Crush Music and Mark Weiss of 23/7 Global. The popular annual event brings together sportsmen (and women) for a fun day of competitive world-class striped bass fishing and it all benefits The T.J. Martell Foundation — Music’s Promise for a Cure. Participants will enjoy an afternoon on the Hudson River/Raritan Bay followed by a fun evening at PJ Clarkes at the marina.

“The T.J. Martell Foundation for Cancer Research works tirelessly every day to save lives,” said McLynn. “The New York Classic Tournament is just another example of how we can bring together people for a day of competitive fun while raising very important funds to continue the Foundation’s research.” Mark Weiss said, “Competitive striped bass fishing is great fun where our guests take winning pretty seriously off the coast of New York. Last year, the first annual New York Classic Tournament was such a success we had to do it again. The event supports one of the most important causes in the nation and with the help of World Series Champion Lou Piniella, we’ll celebrate the catch in the evening and help the Foundation continue its great work in cancer research.”

A limited number of spaces are available for the tournament, and interested participants are encouraged to register early. Ticket price includes the charter boat rental, crew, all bait & tackle, beverages on deck and entry into the after-party. The event is sponsored by The Crush Foundation, Asbury Park Brewery, 23/7 Global and NYC Sports Fishing Charters. Boat purchase and after-party tickets are available by contacting the T.J. Martell Foundation’s East Coast headquarters at 646-841-1394 or by emailing Linda Ingrisano at lingrisano@tjmartell.org. For more information, visit nyfishingclassic.com or tjmartell.org.
