Emmis Names Thomson SVP of HR

• Emmis Communications announced that 15-year company veteran Traci Thomson has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Human Resources.

The news of Thomson’s upgrade was shared in a staff memo from Emmis Chairman & CEO Jeff Smulyan, that read, “Traci is an integral member of the Emmis senior leadership team and has played a critical role in all of the actions we’ve taken over the past several years to reinvent Emmis. Today’s promotion also sets the stage for the important role Traci will play in the months ahead with the formation of Mediaco Holding and the next steps on our path to invest in the future of Emmis. Over her fifteen years with Emmis, Traci has been a source of wisdom, development, and support for so many members of our team, first, as Director, Employee Services and for the past decade as VP, Human Resources.”

Thomson joined Emmis in 2004 as Director of Employee Services and was upped to VP of HR in March 2009.
