More Pros In Motion
• Leighton Broadcasting Country KZPK (Wild Country 99)/St. Cloud, MN has hired Mike McNamee as its new live and local night jock, effective Feb. 20. McNamee was born and raised Woodbury, MN and has been a producer for the nationally syndicated Big Time with Whitney Allan for the past eight years. Wild Country PD Kris Valentine said, “Mike’s attitude, passion and personality are exactly what we’ve been looking for in our new night host. We’re excited to bring him home to join an already winning team and community.”
McNamee added, “I’m so incredibly lucky for not only the opportunity to work with Leighton Broadcasting and The Wild Country 99 Crew, but for the last eight years at The Big Time with Whitney Allen. If I can remember even half of everything Whitney, OM Steve Ringgold and Executive Producer Jackie Stevens have taught me, I know I’ll make Wild Country proud.”
• Townsquare Media Top 40 WKFR/Kalamazoo, MI has unveiled a brand new morning team — listeners are now regaining consciousness to the sounds of Tess Taylor and Heather McGregor hosting Morning Mayhem. How was this complex move accomplished, you ask? Simple — Brand Manager/morning co-host Dana Marshall switched shifts with McGregor, who had been doing middays. Ta Da! McGregor enjoys a lengthy history as a former WKFR morning co-host from 1994-1999 and again from 2000-2003. Taylor joined the WKFR team in April of 2015. As Marshall commented, “The chemistry between the two of them is undeniable. Get ready to laugh so hard you pee a little.”
