2020 Rock Hall Nominees Announced
• On Tuesday, October 15, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced the nominees for the Rock Hall Class of 2020. The following 16 artists are nominated in the Performer category: Pat Benatar, Dave Matthews Band, Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk, MC5, Motörhead, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Todd Rundgren, Soundgarden, T. Rex and Thin Lizzy.
Nine of this year’s nominees are first-timers; however, you will notice that many are multiple prior nominees still waiting for their shot… some longer than others … Depeche Mode (two previous nominations), Judas Priest (nominated for Class of 2018), Kraftwerk (nominated five previous times), MC5 (nominated four times before), Nine Inch Nails (nominated twice before), Rufus featuring Chaka Khan (three previous nominations) and Todd Rundgren (nominated for Class of 2019).
New this year: to cast a ballot in the official Klipsch Audio Fan Vote, you can search “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or the word “Vote” with any Nominee name on Google to cast your ballot. You may also cast your vote via Google once a day through January 10, 2020 and pick up to five nominees per ballot. The top five artists will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2020 Inductees.
While the 2019 induction ceremony was held in Brooklyn, the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Klipsch Audio, returns to the Rock Hall’s ancestral home in Cleveland on May 2, 2020. Leading up to the big night will be Induction Week, featuring a bunch of celebratory events and the opening of the 2020 Inductee exhibit.
