Condolences: Kandy Klutch

• We are shocked and saddened to learn that longtime radio pro Kandy Klutch passed away on May 13. Kandy, whose given name was Nancy Ann Froelich, had been dealing with some serious health issues for the past few years.

The news of Kandy’s passing was posted on Facebook by her relative, Lee Froelich, who said, “Your friend, our sister, sister-in-law, Aunt and ‘Super’ Aunt, Nancy Ann Froelich, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020. Nancy had a great heart, and was a proud and positive person. With us, her radio days are at an end, but we know she’ll be playing the hits for family and friends that passed before her.”

Kandy’s lengthy radio career started in the mid-80s at WAPE/Jacksonville, followed by a stint as MD at WKSS (Kiss 95.7)/Hartford. After a two-year run with All Access, Kandy returned to radio as PD of Clear Channel’s KUMX (Mix 104.1)/New Orleans and APD/MD of KSLZ (Z107.9)/St. Louis. In 2004, while working at the late WWZZ (Z104)/Washington, Kandy also served as an instructor at the Columbia School of Broadcasting. She later made the move to satellite radio, spending eight years as a programmer with WorldSpace and XM. More recently she had been living in Tampa, FL and working for Nielsen as a Research Investigator. We will pass along additional details as they become available.
