Sadly, It’s Time To Go…

• Earlier this week we learned that The Pohlad Companies (Go Media) had signed a deal to sell Twin Cities’ Alternative KQGO-FM (Go 96.3)/Edina, MN and Rhythmic KZGO-FM (Go 95.3)/St. Paul, MN to Educational Media Foundation (EMF), which operates the Contemporary Christian KLOVE and Air1 radio networks.

Unfortunately, as is the case when transactions of this sort this take place, our first thoughts are to the humans involved, and, while the stations will continue broadcasting until the sale closes early next year, the staffers have already been downsized and will be actively seeking their next opportunities: Go 96.3 PD/midday talent Christy Taylor (pictured), MD/morning host Jordan Alamat, afternoon talent Reed Petitpren and afternoon co-host/Video Coordinator/promotions/web editor Zeke Salo.

This wraps up Christy Taylor’s second stint with Go 96.3 — in 2015 Taylor served as interim New Media and Music Manager during the launch phase of Go 96.3 under its original KTWN calls. She later relocated to Phoenix as MD/midday talent at Hubbard Alternative KDKB (ALT AZ 93-3), and later did nights on Riviera Hot AC KMVA (Hot 97.5/103.9). She returned to Go 96.3 in June 2018 as APD/MD/midday personality and was elevated to PD in Nov. 2018. Taylor previously programmed 91X/San Diego, was APD/MD/middays at WZMR (104.9 The Edge)/Albany, NY and did weekends at the late WXRK (92.3 K-Rock)/NYC.

Looking ahead, Taylor can be reached at christytime@gmail.com; Jordan Alamat was previously Asst. Producer of the Dave Ryan Show across the street on KDWB — find him at jordan.alamat@gmail.com; Reed Petitpren joined Go 96.3 nearly three years ago; he previously spent eight years at the late 89X/Windsor-Detroit and a brief stint at WRIF before coming to Minneapolis. This year he was inducted into the Specs Howard Broadcast Hall of Fame — 586-855-8056 or R9petitpren@gmail.com, @itsREEDyo on social; the multi-tasking Sato had been with company for 13 years, dating back several formats to the former KTTB (B96) — contact him at hizeke@gmail.com.
