Kirby Ready To Conquer Casper
• Last week we told you Drew Kirby had resigned as morning host on Momentum Broadcasting Country KJUG/Visalia-Tulare, CA for a new gig TBA — and now the word is out — Kirby is headed for scenic Casper, WY as the newly named Brand Manager and morning co-host for Townsquare Media’s KWYY (My Country 95.5), with a start date of June 1. He will replace Jeff “Doc” Holliday, who was promoted to Director of Content for the Townsquare’s Waterloo, IA stations.
“We had the pleasure of talking to a lot of talented candidates when this rare opening presented — it was obvious that Drew was a great fit for Townsquare and the Wyoming Country lifestyle,” said Donovan Short, Director of Content for Townsquare Casper. “Great on the air, driven on the streets, and his mindset aligns well with our significant local charity and community endeavors — can’t wait for him to land and connect with a great partner in Cathy Holman and write the next chapter of KWYY.”
Kirby has been with KJUG since August 2016, when he and his former on-air partner Tory Wuycheck arrived from Titan Broadcasting Country KBKB (101.7 The Bull)/Burlington, IA. Kirby commented, “I’ve been waiting for a long time to get a chance to work in Wyoming. I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running, creating local content with My Country 95.5 and soaring to… (wait for it…) … the next level.”
