New Morning Mix In Houston
Sarah Pepper (center), a market vet since 2008, has the second-shortest commute of the three, as she most recently anchored the morning show across the hall at sister station KKHH, former Top 40 Hot 95.7 (now Adult Hits 95.7 The Spot). Sheen formerly did afternoon drive on iHeartMedia Sports-Talk KTKR (760 The Ticket)/San Antonio and Lauren Kelly, a ten-year Mix veteran, simply unplugs from the afternoon shift and sets her alarm four hours earlier to join the new morning show.
Pepper said, “Being able to do mornings on a heritage station like Mix 96-5 is an amazing opportunity, and I want to thank Sarah Frazier and Chase Murphy. Lauren is a talented woman, and after years of being friends and co-workers, I am thrilled to now call her my co-host. Geoff brings a wealth of experience and I look forward to working with him and learning from him.” Enjoy Pepper’s welcome back Facebook video.
Mix 96-5 has been without a wake-up show since it parted ways with The Dave, Mahoney & DK Morning Show last December. With The Morning Mix now ready to rock, Mr. Murphy is now seeking a new afternoon drive personality. That open position is now posted on the CBS Radio Careers site. As Murphy helpfully explained to RAMP, “I’ll be filling in till we get someone… then I’ll go back to mailing it in during the midday!”
