Johnson Awake Well Before Brunch
We are thrilled for our buddy, South Florida radio fixture Joe Johnson, who embarks on an exciting new chapter of his storied career very early this morning … 5am ET, to be specific, as he cracks the mic in his new as the local host of Morning Edition on legendary Miami NPR affiliate WLRN, a station that boasts a 60-year tradition of excellence in trusted journalism and broadcasting.
As we have extensively reported, Johnson enjoyed a 28-plus-year career at former Entercom Classic Hits station WMXJ (Magic 102.7)/Miami as on air talent and Creative Services Director until December 2015. Johnson remains an in-demand voiceover talent and event host and he continues to host and produce Joe Johnson’s Beatle Brunch, which begins its 26th year in production and has been syndicated by Westwood One since 2000. “As I have matured, so has my broadcasting career,” Johnson notes. “I am humbled and thrilled to be a part of this award-winning, legendary radio station, one that I grew up listening and contributing to.” WLRN Director of Programming Peter J. Maerz said, “We are thrilled to have one of South Florida’s best known voices anchoring our most important daypart.”
