Columbia Ups White-Mason To VP/Marketing
• Columbia Records announced the promotion of Victoria White-Mason to Vice President of Marketing. In this elevated role, White-Mason, who most recently served as Sr. Director of Marketing, will continue to lead and oversee major campaigns for Columbia Records’ artists like Beyoncé, Rosaliá, Pharrell, Baby Keem, Chlöe Bailey and Joey Bada$$.
White-Mason reports to Jay Schumer and Erika Alfredson, Executive Vice Presidents of Marketing, who jointly remarked, “It has been impressive to see what Victoria has accomplished in her time at Columbia. She is strategic, creative and well-respected amongst her Columbia colleagues, as well as among the artists and managers with whom she collaborates. Vic’s continued leadership is a great asset, and we are excited to see her continue to flourish at Columbia.”
“This is truly a full-circle moment for me,” said White-Mason. “I have such a vivid memory of scouring through The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill‘s album booklet as a young music fanatic. When I read that she was a Columbia artist, I manifested then and there that one day I’d contribute to the magic Columbia helps bring to the world. It’s the lifetime pursuit of that goal that has led me here. The gravity and privilege of this moment is not lost on me, and it’s doubly an honor to do this work alongside this incredible roster of artists and the Columbia team.”
A native of Atlanta, Victoria White-Mason earned her BA in Comparative Women’s Studies from Spelman College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School. She previously held positions at United Masters, the Recording Industry Association, Sony Music’s Global Digital Business and the Media Arts Law Firm in Sydney, Australia. A committed social justice advocate, White-Mason spent three years on Capitol Hill and co-founded several social justice initiatives, including leading Black Lives Matter efforts at Harvard Law.
