Spicer’s Amazing Tropical Adventure

• After a successful three-decade radio career, Cindy Spicer is preparing to take a giant step away from her dual role as PD of iHeartMedia Country duo WFUS (US 103.5)/Tampa & WQIK/Jacksonville — and from the radio industry in general — and she prepares to embark on an amazing six to 12-month extended vacation adventure in Costa Rica!

Spicer joined the former Clear Channel in June 2000 and previously programmed KNIX/Phoenix andKUSS/San Diego. She originally joined WQIK in April 2012, and after a six-year run earned the transfer to WFUS in Jan. 2018. Three years later, she reacquired her former WQIK PD stripes. In her not-so-spare time, Spicer also does afternoons on WQIK and middays on AC sister WMTX (Mix 100.7)/Tampa.

RAMP reached out to Spicer, who told us, “The world is big and sometimes we need to surprise ourselves and have no regrets! Thanks so much to iHeartMedia for all of these years of getting to do what I love, and the opportunity to learn and work with the best.”

SVP of Programming Tommy Chuck commented, “I’m very happy for Cindy and wish her well. She’s done an awesome job for us and has made US103.5 the consistent country leader in Tampa Bay. She leaves big shoes to fill. I will announce our plan forward soon!” Spicer added, “If you’re looking to work with the best team, there is a fantastic position available — please contact TommyChuck@iheartmedia.com.”

Spicer is expected to remain in the building until the end of September; until then, she can be reached at CindySpicer@iheartmedia.com.
