ASCAP Elevates González To SVP, Int’l Affairs
• The American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has promoted Gabriela (Gaby) González to Senior Vice President, International Affairs and Latin Membership. In her newly expanded role, González will work with Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking societies in Europe and Latin America and continue her leadership role on ASCAP’s Latin Membership team, partnering with ASCAP’s sister societies in these regions to increase revenues and distributions for music creators.
“Gaby and her team have driven ASCAP’s Latin Membership to new heights,” said John Titta, ASCAP EVP of Membership & Chief Creative Officer. “I’m thrilled to see the group’s role expand to work with our International Affairs team as well as our sister societies in Latin America and Europe.”
“Gaby is an amazing executive with in-depth industry knowledge in key territories,” stated Tony Dunaif, ASCAP EVP of International Affairs. “She has her finger on the pulse of Latin music and great relationships with music societies. Combining her vast insights and experience with the best Latin creators in the world and our ongoing partnerships with collective management organizations will help to deliver more value for our ASCAP members.”
González has led the ASCAP Latin Membership team, including team members based in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Puerto Rico, as Vice President of Membership since 2016 and has been named to the Billboard Latin Power Players List for five consecutive years since 2018.
Since joining the organization, González has nurtured and signed some of ASCAP’s top talent, including Marco Antonio Solís, Camilo, Natti Natasha, Claudia Brant, Jhayco, Sebastián Yatra, Farruko and Kali Uchis, among others. She continues to play a key role in developing the careers of ASCAP composers and songwriters, recruiting new members and serving all of ASCAP’s Latin writer and publisher members.
