Hanrahan Exits SummitMedia, WZZK Open

• RAMP has confirmed that Tom Hanrahan has resigned from SummitMedia and his dual roles as PD of Country WZZK/Birmingham and corporate Vice President of Country Programming. His last day was Friday, Oct. 6.

Hanrahan notably spent 25 years with iHeartMedia, 20 of those years in the Birmingham market, where he rose to Area SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Alabama and PD/afternoon personality (as “Major Tom“) of WDXB (102.5 The Bull) until his departure a year ago. He joined SummitMedia in March of this year.

The first order of business for SummitMedia EVP of Programming Randy Chase is to secure a new Program Director for heritage Country WZZK/Birmingham. Interested candidates are invited to reach out to Chase at randy.chase@summitmediacorp.com.
