Moving Day For Boxer & Elliott
• Multiple morning show changes are afoot inside iHeartMedia’s Columbus, OH broadcast complex, starting with heritage Talk 610 WTVN-AM, where Brandon Boxer (left) unplugs from mornings after three years and crosses the hall as the newly named PD and morning host on Classic Hits WODC (93.3 The Bus). He will retain his other role as afternoon talent on Country 92.3 WCOL. Current Bus morning personality Josh Markovitz will now be heard over on sister WXZX (Columbus Alternative 105.7).
Boxer remarked, “I’m 100% amped to continue waking up and taking our listeners home daily, plus advancing my programming career. My deepest gratitude to Kris Foley, Gene Romano, Michael McCoy, and my iHeartMedia family for this opportunity.”
Replacing Boxer in mornings on WTVN is PD Mike Elliott (right), who will slap on the cans and helm the newly launched Columbus’ Morning News alongside Sports Director Matt McCoy, News Reporter Scott Jennings, Traffic guy Johnny Hill and Producer Michael Campana. Elliott is a 30-year market veteran who joined WTVN in 1999 as the producer for Columbus radio legend Bob Conners. “I’ve done everything on WTVN except host my own show, and now I get that chance,” said Elliott. “I’m grateful to be working with most talented team in the business every morning to bring the news to the best audience out there!”
After the changes were announced, SVP of Programming Michael McCoy said, “We’re always looking for ways to better serve our listeners. I’m confident that these moves will do just that, and I’m excited to see the results.”
