Mark Adams Named PD of Z100/New York
• iHeartMedia’s Z100/New York announced that longtime company veteran Mark Adams has been named Program Director, effective Wednesday, May 1. He will succeeds Mark Medina, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Programming in Phoenix. Story posted here.
Adams earns the coast-to-coast transfer from iHeart San Francisco, where he currently programs Top 40 KYLD (Wild 94.9) and Hot AC KIOI (Star 101.3). He will retain his existing corporate role as Vice President of CHR.
Adams will report into Thea Mitchem, EVP of Programming for iHeartMedia, who remarked, “Mark Adams was the perfect choice to build on the iconic legacy of Z100, New York’s #1 Hit Music Station. His brand experience, commitment to talent development and track record of success makes him the ideal choice to lead Z100 into the future.”

Adams joined iHeartMedia in 2013 as VP of Programming for the company’s Portland, OR group before moving to San Francisco the following year to program Top 40 KYLD (Wild 94.9) and Hot AC KIOI (Star 101.3). He earlier served as VP of Programming for Rose City Radio in Portland and VP of Music Programming for CBS Radio Houston.
