Dwyer Joins The Wolf… That’s No Bull
• Nice to hear that Portland’s own Danny Dwyer, who exited Alpha Media Country KUPL (98.7 The Bull) in July, has been smartly recruited by Audacy to join crosstown rival KWJJ (99.5 The Wolf), starting Friday, Sept. 26.
Dwyer’s new part-time role will be to contribute a daily feature during the Wolf’s morning show, hosted by married morning duo Nick & Kristen, who officially welcomed Dwyer aboard during a surprise video appearance Monday morning.
Dwyer, who had celebrated his 27th anniversary with The Bull in April of this year, was downsized from his position as APD/MD and 9am-noon talent in July, along with noon-to-3pm host Jake Byron and Marketing Director Karli Sann. He had also served as a traffic reporter for several Portland television stations.
Dwyer first caught the radio bug in 1981 while in high school, working at the mighty 106.3 KMMT/Mammoth Lakes, CA. His first official radio gig was at the late, great KZLA/Los Angeles in 1992, followed by stints at Country KHAY/Oxnard-Ventura and KTPI/Tehachapi, CA before joining KUPL in 1998.
