Remembering Tracy Zamot

Tracy Zamot, a veteran publicist who worked for Atlantic, Virgin and Motown Records, Pandora Radio and SiriusXM over the course of her career, has died after a long illness, her family has confirmed to Variety. She was only 55. No cause of death was announced.

A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, Zamot joined Atlantic Records as a tour publicist in 1992 and rose to VP over the course of her decade with the company. She left Atlantic in late 2001 to join Virgin Records, which at the time was run by her former Atlantic colleague Jason Flom. She followed that with a two year stint with Universal Motown Records.

In 2015 Zamot joined Pandora Radio, serving there for nearly three years before a brief stint at SiriusXM. She worked independently for the next several years before joining the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in 2022.

Making Zamot’s passing even more tragic, in April 2015 we reported the untimely death of her husband of 26 years, industry veteran John Loscalzo, 52, who had worked at CBS Radio, MTV, and was our former colleague at Airplay Monitor in the mid-’90s. The two leave behind their teenaged daughter, Gracie. [Photo from LinkedIn]
