Terry Named ND/Mornings, WLRH/Huntsville
• Public Radio 89.3-FM WLRH/Huntsville, AL has named Ryan L. Terry as News Director and the new host of Tennessee Valley Mornings, the station’s locally produced morning news and information program, which was recognized by the Alabama Broadcasters Association with the award for “Best Radio Morning Show” in Alabama for 2025.
Terry joins WLRH from Gulf Coast State College-owned 90.7 WKGC/Panama City, FL, where he hosted mornings and served as General Manager.
“Ryan brings a unique blend of public media leadership, storytelling expertise, and community engagement that makes him an outstanding fit for WLRH and North Alabama,” said Erich Brukner, General Manager of WLRH. “As we continue investing in local programming, Ryan’s experience and creative vision will help us build on the success of Tennessee Valley Mornings and deepen our connection to the communities we serve.”
Terry’s background also includes nearly a decade teaching film studies, screenwriting, and media courses at the University of Tampa, along with extensive work as a film critic, writer, and broadcaster. He hosts the radio and podcast program ReelTalk and publishes the film and media blog R.L. Terry ReelView. Terry is also the author of the forthcoming book, Monsters, Madness, and Mayhem: Why People Love Horror.
