iHeartMedia Whips Out Huge Woody News
iHeartMedia just announced an exclusive five-year agreement with Los Angeles-based morning personality Woody Fife to renew and expand his relationship with the company. Under the terms of this new deal, 1) Woody will continue to host The Woody Show on KYSR (ALT 98.7)/Los Angeles, and 2) The Woody Show will now be syndicated nationally by Premiere Networks.
“Since joining the iHeartMedia team just three years ago, Woody and The Woody Show have made an incredible impact on listeners across Los Angeles,” said Bob Pittman, Chairman & CEO of iHeartMedia. “With their unique blend of real life chemistry and unadulterated humor, they have become staples of the radio landscape in Los Angeles. This partnership is the latest in our continued commitment to providing diverse and relevant programming to radio listeners across the U.S., and we’re thrilled to bring their incredible talent to listeners nationwide.”
Woody commented, “iHeartMedia’s support and belief in The Woody Show has been unwavering, and I want to thank Bob Pittman, Rich Bressler, Tom Poleman, Greg Ashlock and Kevin LeGrett for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Not only am I excited to continue building on what we’ve done here in Los Angeles, but now with Premiere Networks, it gives us the opportunity to impose our will on the unsuspecting establishment from coast to coast!”
The Woody Show (also carried on ALT 104.9/St. Louis) arrived at ALT 98.7 in April 2014 from Emmis Alternative KPNT (105.7 The Point)/St. Louis. Prior to that, the show enjoyed success in Chicago and at CBS Radio Alternative KITS (Live 105)/San Francisco, where Woody joined real-life friends Ravey, Menace and Greg Gory on-air for what would become The Woody Show. Woody is represented by Bob and Ross Eatman.
