Don’t Screw With Hurricane Harvey
We are keeping the most positive thoughts for all of our friends in Texas, which is on high alert as the very dangerous Hurricane Harvey bears down on the Texas Gulf Coast. One of our pals there is Russell Rush, PD of iHeartMedia Top 40 KXXM (96.1 NOW)/San Antonio, as the Alamo City is bracing for as much as 20 inches of rain even that far inland. “This is a storm like we haven’t seen in 50 years,” Rush tells RAMP. “Mass flooding is expected, along with widespread power outages. The outer bands of the storm are expected to reach us around 5pm tonight, and Harvey is expected to be a Category 3 storm by the time it makes landfall on the Texas Coast about 1am Saturday.”
With everyone so understandably stressed out over Harvey’s imminent arrival, Rush decided to lighten the mood a bit while still getting all the pertinent info out — in the form of a musical Hurricane Harvey PSA, which in no way resembles the Chainsmokers/Halsey hit, “Closer.” Rush (left) was accompanied by former American Idol star (and San Antonio native) Steven Curd. Well played, Russell! Thank you — and let’s be careful out there!
