Apply For MIW-Nielsen Mentoring

• The Mentoring & Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) Group and Nielsen Music are now accepting applications for the 2nd Annual MIW-Nielsen Music Mentoring Program, a collaborative effort that creates greater opportunities for women interested in management positions in music broadcast programming across the country. This one-year mentorship program matches a female programming candidate with key mentors from throughout the broadcast industry, including the MIW Radio Group and Nielsen Music. The MIW-Nielsen Music Mentoring Program is designed to sharpen the mentee’s programming and professional skills and further her music-programming career. The program also includes a scholarship to attend The Radio Show, produced by the RAB and NAB.

Leslie Scott (left), PD of KNDD (107.7 The End)/Seattle and the 2017 MIW-Nielsen Music Mentee, remarked, “The MIW-Nielsen Music programming mentorship has afforded me so many new opportunities in the industry. I’ve worked with some incredibly talented women who have helped me grow both as a programmer and a leader, and I’ve made some great new friends in the process. I encourage every woman in programming to apply for this amazing opportunity.”

Haley Jones, Director of Radio at Nielsen Entertainment, said, “Nielsen Music is excited to renew our collaborative efforts with the MIW Group to mentor ambitious female radio program directors. We believe this is a highly effective program, based on last year’s tremendous success with Leslie Scott, and we look forward to fostering more opportunities for women programmers in radio.”

The mentorship is available to one female program director, assistant program director, and/or music director from any music format. Interested candidates may visit RadioMIW.com for details and an application form. The deadline for submitting completed applications is August 10. The winner will be announced at the 2018 Radio Show in Orlando on September 26.
