Kelsey Grammer: Giant Of Broadcasting

The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation (LABF) has announced that acclaimed actor, producer, and director Kelsey Grammer will be honored as one of the 2026 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts later this year, recognizing his remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry.

Grammer, best known for his portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane on Cheers, Wings, Frasier, and the recent Frasierrevival on Paramount+, joins an esteemed class of 2026 honorees that includes Debra OConnell, Chairman, ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks • David Donovan, President and Executive Director, New York State Broadcasters Association • Skip Finley, Broadcast Owner, Operator, Advisor, and Award-winning Author • Jaime Jarrin, Baseball Hall of Famer and Legendary former Spanish Language Voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers • Deborah Norville, Emmy© Award Winning Broadcaster and Host of The Perfect LineJane Pauley, Respected Broadcast Journalist and Anchor of CBS News Sunday MorningDavid Santrella, Chief Executive Officer, Salem Media Group • Suzyn Waldman, Trailblazing Sportscaster, Award-winning Journalist and Longtime Radio Broadcaster for the New York Yankees.

“The Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts Awards recognize individuals whose work has defined eras and shaped the evolution of our industry,” said LABF Co-Chairs Deborah Parenti and Dave “Chachi” Denes. “Kelsey Grammer’s extraordinary career and his ability to bring one of television’s most iconic characters to life across generations exemplify the lasting impact this honor was created to celebrate.”

The 2026 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts Awards will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Gotham Hall in New York City, emceed by Juju Chang, co-anchor of ABC News’ Nightline and a previous Giant honoree. The Museum of Broadcast Communications will also be presented with the 4th Annual LABF Excellence in Broadcast Preservation Award, recognizing its outstanding commitment to preserving the history of broadcasting.
