AJ’s Kids Crane No. 16

KyXy/San Diego proudly presents the 16th Annual “AJ’s Kids Crane” — a weeklong charity event beginning Friday, November 10 and running through Wednesday, November 15, all to benefit Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. AJ Machado, host of AJ Mornings, will once again live in a crane 30 feet above the ground for the duration. Listeners are invited to participate in daily themed activities by donating a new toy or making a monetary donation to Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. This year’s goal is to collect more than 100,000 toys for young patients. All activities take place in the IKEA parking lot at 2149 Fenton Parkway in Mission Valley.

AJ’s Kids Crane was founded by Machado and his longtime Producer Hula Ramos in 2001.

“It’s our 16th year and I’m still just a guy living in a crane,” said Machado (left). “The San Diego community has rallied together to make this event bigger and better every year and I’m excited to see it happen again! The toys collected through this event will be distributed to kids at Rady Children’s Hospital throughout 2018 and they definitely make a big difference!” Ramos added, “I’m always in awe when I see how the community rallies together every year for AJ’s Kids Crane. I’ve watched this event grow from year one when AJ sat in a scissor lift with a broadcast booth, an RV and 10,000 toys down on the ground below him, to this huge weeklong festival that we see today! I’m so proud to be part of such an amazing event!”

The event kicks off Friday, November 10 at 7:30am with an exclusive media breakfast hosted by IKEA. To make things more fun, a series of theme days will extend throughout AJ’s aerial residency.
