Happy Re-Retirement, Gio!

• Rhode Island radio icon Giovanni announced his retirement from afternoons at iHeartMedia Classic Hits WWBB (B101)/Providence and Oldies WCIB (Cool 102)/Falmouth, MA after an 18-month run.

Gio, a.k.a. Daniel Centofanti joined WWBB in January 2025, following his initial retirement after a remarkable 50-year run across the street on Cumulus Top 40 WPRO (92 PRO FM), the last 25 years in mornings.

Adam Rivers has replaced Giovanni in afternoons at WWBB, while veteran air talent Jeffrey T. Mason is now doing afternoons on WCIB. In his not-so-spare time, Rivers is Director of Programming & Brand Strategy for iHeartMedia Top 40, PD/afternoons at Top 40 WKSS (Kiss 95.7)/Hartford and PD/midday talent at WKCI (KC101)/New Haven.

B101 saluted Gio in an Instagram post that reads: “Wishing our friend, the legend, @radiogio all the best on his retirement. Congratulations on your legendary career in Rhode Island radio and thank you for your contributions to B101!”

Happy Re-Retirement, Gio!
