Flood Creates Water Shortage

iHeartMedia’s six Milwaukee radio stations recently banded together and collected five large semi-trucks full of bottled water to help citizens in the Southeast Wisconsin area. Unprecedented flash floods had contaminated local water wells, leaving many residents with no access to drinking water and no electrical power. The 12-hour was at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee. Additional generous water donations were made by Pepsi, the Milwaukee Bucks, Bell Ambulance, M Tech and 7 Mile Fair, and Paratech Ambulance Service also donated three ambulances full of bottled water. Paratech staffers also pitched in and helped load the trucks with other water donations throughout the rest of the day.

“The iHeartMedia Milwaukee team and our listeners are committed to the people in the Milwaukee community. They saw their neighbors in need and jumped to action in a matter of hours,” said Kerry Wolfe, Operations Manager for iHeartMedia Milwaukee. “It was truly a team effort among all six of our radio station brands. We are grateful for our loyal listeners throughout the Milwaukee metro area who donated and made this event an amazing success.” The collected water is currently being distributed through The American Red Cross and Hunger Task Force.
