Laurie Roberts Needs Our Help

• We wanted to draw your attention to a humanitarian campaign recently launched to benefit Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame member Laurie Roberts, best known and loved for her stints at KOME and KFOX/San Jose as well as the legendary KPIG/Santa Cruz, who has been dealing with severe foot, knee and mobility issues. We are told that Laurie is facing extremely complicated surgery followed by four to six months of extensive rehab. Her medical situation is making it nearly impossible to navigate the 60+ stairs in her home, and that will become un-manageable in the near future.

Riding to the rescue are a couple of generous Bay Area rock stars — Robert Berry and Greg Kihn (pictured here with Laurie back in the day, and more recently), who have established a GoFundMe page on Laurie’s behalf. The funds raised from this campaign will be used to help Laurie relocate to more suitable housing and assist with her considerable medical expenses.

Laurie has helped raise a lot of money for other people and pets in every market she’s worked in, and now, Laurie’s friends are looking to return that gesture of kindness. Please share the link and donate whatever you can to help a fellow radio pro.
