Music Industry Loves St. Jude
Always great to hear from industry pro Kevin Carroll, who now works for St. Jude as Sr. Advisor, Entertainment Marketing and is heavily involved with the organization’s newest initiative — Music Gives to St. Jude Kids, a program that empowers artists to support St. Jude’s ongoing mission to eliminate childhood cancer, sickle cell disease and other chronic illnesses that afflict kids.
To that end, this Friday, August 4, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital proudly presents the first-ever “Music Gives to St. Jude Kids Day,” an event that allows bands, fans and venues across the United States to show their support and raise funds and awareness for the patients and families of St. Jude. The Music Gives to St. Jude Kids initiative is led by musician Jason Thomas Gordon, the grandson of St. Jude’s founder, Danny Thomas. Gordon created this year-round program which informs, inspires and engages artists, their fans and the entertainment industry to support the ongoing mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding Cures. Saving children.®
To help prime the pump, as it were, the Goo Goo Dolls selected St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® as a Charity of Choice, donating $422,800 to this most worthy campaign. To learn more about this program, contact Kevin Carroll at kevin.carroll@stjude.org, and if you would like to help spread the news about Friday’s event, please share this link on your social media… and thank you!
• And in a wonderfully related story, Columbia Records’ artist Lecrae has also teamed up St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and produced a very moving music video for “I’ll Find You,” featuring the lovely and talented Tori Kelly and actual St. Jude patients. You are invited to watch and share the official video and become a St. Jude Partner in Hope today.
