Audacy Selling WLFP, WTSS To EMF
• RAMP has learned that Audacy has agreed to sell Country WLFP (94.1 The Wolf)/Memphis and Hot AC WTSS (Star 102.5)/Buffalo, NY to Educational Media Foundation (EMF) for $15.5 million, according to the documentation filed with the FCC.
The move wasn’t a complete shock — WLFP, WTSS and KQPS/Palm Desert, CA were transferred into a subsidiary, Audacy Atlas, for assets designated for sale earlier in the year.
WTSS has been in the format since the early ’70s, and WLFP has been a Country station since 2014.
Last month we reported that Palm Springs-based LGBTQ media entrepreneur Brad Fuhr had purchased 103.1 KQPS (Channel Q)/Palm Desert from Audacy to pair up with his existing property, KGAY (106.5/1270)/Palm Springs. Interestingly, EMF already owns a K-LOVE affiliate in Buffalo, 89.9 WBKV.
