Chernoff Leaves His Mark On WFAN

Mark Chernoff‘s remarkable five-decade radio career formally came to a close on June 30 when he stepped down as Brand Manager for Audacy’s WFAN/New York and CBS Sports Radio after 28 years. As we recently reported, Chernoff let his hair down, as it were, shortly before his departure, as he did a final jock shift on Classic Hits sister WCBS-FM on Saturday, June 19.

To pay proper tribute to Chernoff’s enduring legacy, the company has appropriately renamed WFAN’s newsroom as “The Mark Chernoff WFAN Newsroom,” now bearing a plaque that reads, “Program Director 1993-2021. Influenced the sound of New York sports over four decades while nurturing the careers of many who traveled this space. Dedicated June 30th, 2021.”
