Condolences: Laurie Kahn
• We keep losing good people, and here, sadly, is the latest name to be added to this sorrowful list: Laurie Kahn, the founder of Media Staffing Network, which for more than three decades has helped thousands of industry pros find good jobs, has passed away after a battle with breast cancer. Kahn had announced her retirement from the company in April of this year.
The news of Kahn’s passing was confirmed to RAMP by Patty Kincaid, VP/GM of Media Staffing Network in a statement that reads, “It’s with great sadness that I share this news… our dear Laurie Kahn passed away peacefully yesterday, surrounded by her loving family. For the past year Laurie has been battling a recurrence of cancer and has been as strong as anyone can be. Her fight motivated her to help others in numerous ways and to share an honest telling of her story… with laughter, curse words, photos, and truth! All of us at Media Staffing Network are heartbroken to lose our Founder and Friend.”
Laurie is survived by her husband, Herb Dougall, and a very close family. We strongly urge you to visit Laurie’s blog, CandidCancerConvos.com, and discover how she dealt with her illness with incredible positivity, while also generously offering to help those who may be facing similar situations.
Most importantly, please take the time to donate, in Laurie’s honor, to the Mayo Clinic, and please indicate that your donation to designated in support of Metastatic Breast Cancer Research in Arizona. Thank you.
