Remembering Norman Feuer

• Norman Feuer, a legendary figure in American radio whose career spanned more than five decades, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 19, 2026, following a three-year battle with dementia. He was 88.

After beginning his career in the advertising industry, Feuer transitioned into radio representation with CBS Radio Spot Sales and Katz Radio. In 1971, Feuer moved into station management, serving as VP/GM of WLYF-FM/Miami and WLAK-FM/Chicago, commuting between the two markets. He later became President and owner of Force Communications as GM of KBZT (K-Best)/San Diego.

As President of Viacom Radio from 1983 to 1985, Feuer oversaw eight stations in six major markets. During his tenure, Country WKHK/New York was transformed into WLTW, which would go on to become one of the most profitable radio stations in the country.

Feuer subsequently served as EVP/COO of Noble Broadcast Group, overseeing 18 radio stations in 10 major markets. He went on to become COO of Pourtales Radio Partnership, which became the foundation for Triathlon Broadcasting Company. From 1995 to 1999, Feuer served as President & CEO of Triathlon, which was sold to Capstar in 1999 for $200 million.

Feuer also pursued station ownership through JMJ, formerly Feuer/McCord Communications, which acquired FM stations in Amarillo, TX, and Topeka, KS. He later served as VP/Market Manager for Clear Channel Jacksonville, and later, Market Manager for Morris Communications’ radio stations in Palm Springs, CA.

One of the defining chapters of Feuer’s later career came from 2012 to 2014, when he served as VP/GM of The Broadcast Companies of America in San Diego, overseeing The Mighty 1090, The Max, and 1700 ESPN.

Feuer is survived by his three children: Justin S. Feuer of Palmdale, CA; Brian Feuer of New York, NY; and Melinda Feuer of Boston, along with two grandsons.

In lieu of flowers or a Celebration of Life, the Feuer family would appreciate a donation made in Norman’s name to a Pet Rescue Organization of your choosing.
