Entercom announced the appointment of Chris Wegmann as the new VP and Market Manager for the company’s New Orleans cluster, overseeing News-Talk WWL-AM/FM, AC WLMG (Magic 101.9), Classic Rock WKBU (Bayou 95.7), Top 40 WEZB (B97), Urban AC WWWL-AM (Hot 103.7) and The New Orleans Saints Radio Network. Wegmann is a 40-year radio veteran who most recently served as President of the Radio Division of Radio One. He joined Radio One in 2009 and previously served as Regional VP for the company’s Washington, Baltimore, Atlanta, Philadelphia and St. Louis markets.

A New Orleans native, Wegmann began his career at WBOK-AM, an R&B station, and later moved to Music Of Your Life affiliate WWIW-AM as General Manager. His career has also taken him to Austin, Pittsburgh, Houston and Atlanta, working for Signature Broadcasting, Gulf Star, Clear Channel and Cox Radio.

“I am excited to have someone of Chris’ background joining Entercom in New Orleans,” said Michael Doyle, Regional President, Entercom. “He started his career in New Orleans, and is returning with an impressive resume of success in our industry.” Wegmann succeeds 10-year cluster vet Chris Claus, who recently announced his retirement, effective August 31.
