White House Press Corps @ NAB Show

• You can’t get much more timely and important than this — four prominent White House correspondents from ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS will participate in a fascinating, in-depth discussion on their jobs covering the Presidency during an NAB Show session entitled Beyond The Briefing Room: Tales From the White House Beat.

Panelists include (left to right): Yamiche Alcindor, White House correspondent for PBS NewsHour; Hallie Jackson, Chief White House Correspondent for NBC News; Steven Portnoy, who covers the White House for CBS News and Cecilia Vega, Senior White House Correspondent for ABC News.

The session will be will moderated by NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith and will discuss the unique challenges reporters face covering an unconventional White House, the evolution of what were once daily press briefings, pressures and strains related to a 24/7 news cycle, and how they deal with issues of credibility and journalistic integrity amid false allegations of “fake news.”

“Rarely in the history of America has the role of the journalist come under as much scrutiny,” said Dennis Wharton, NAB Executive Vice President of Communications. “We look forward to hearing from four of today’s most respected White House reporters on how they hold government officials accountable, and how they view the role of a free press in a democratic society.”

This compelling session will take place Tuesday, April 9 on the Main Stage at the 2019 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
