Hey, Bean’s Back!
… And all is right with the world again… There was cause for excessive celebration on Monday as Gene “Bean” Baxter has returned to his rightful spot he’s occupied for the past three decades — co-host of The Kevin & Bean Show on Entercom’s World Famous KROQ/Los Angeles, candidly explaining he had taken a hiatus to work on his mental health.
As we initially reported back on April 6, Baxter had been off the air for more than two weeks when the show acknowledged his absence in a tweet wishing him a speedy recovery. Shortly thereafter, Baxter tweeted this reply, “I am humbled by your well-wishes, thank you. Happy to announce I am still physically the healthiest man alive but am taking this time for mental health care. We’ll talk soon!” Longtime KROQ personality Ted Stryker had been filling in for his colleague for the past few weeks and now returns to his regularly scheduled afternoon drive show.
Over the weekend, word began to circulate that Bean was set to make his return, as he posted this uplifting photo on the show’s Facebook page.
