Oake Wakes Up Back At Cities 97.1

• iHeartMedia’s KTCZ (Cities 97.1)/Minneapolis, “Uniquely Twin Cities” happily announces the return of former longtime station veteran Brian Oake as host of Brian Oake in the Morning, alongside co-host Brianne Burdette, weekdays from 6-10am, as Paul Fletcher moves back to afternoons from mornings and PD Rich Davis comes off the air.

A Twin Cities native, Oake has been a familiar voice in the local music scene for more than 25 years. He originally joined Cities 97.1 in 2001 after having made a name for himself in the Minneapolis market at Radio K, REV 105 and the short-lived Zone 105. After a 15-year run in afternoons and later, mornings, Oake left Cities 97.1 in late 2015 to co-host the morning show across the street on Minnesota Public Radio Triple A KCMP (The Current) for about three years, and now returns to Cities 97.1.

“Brian Oake is a part of the history and fabric of the station,” said Rich Davis, who also programs Top 40 sister KDWB. “From his afternoon show back in 2001 when he started with us, to his time as my morning man, he personifies this radio station. He is ‘uniquely Twin Cities’ and I’m so excited to have him back anchoring weekday mornings.” Oake remarked, “Cities 97.1 has been so much a part of my career and such a major part of Twin Cities radio history, and I’m honored to be a part of its continued story.”
