JT Exits Beasley Detroit; Cluster Seeks OM

• RAMP has confirmed that Jerry “JT” Tarrants has exited as PD of Beasley Classic Rock WCSX and Active Rock WRIF/Detroit. We are told that Beasley Chief Content Officer Justin Chase is overseeing programming of the Detroit stations in the interim. Tarrants had programmed WCSX since July 2013 and was awarded bonus PD stripes for WRIF last December after the departure of Mark Pennington. Before that he spent eight years with Townsquare Media’s cluster in Grand Rapids, MI, rising to OM.

• At the same time, Beasley Media Group Detroit is actively seeking an Operations Manager to oversee Active Rocker WRIF, Classic Rock WCSX, Throwback Hip Hop WMGC (105.1 The Bounce), Urban AC WDMK (105.9 Kiss FM), and Inspirational Praise Network.

All candidates must be strategic and analytical but also creative, and with the instinct to win. Beasley only hires programmers who know how to be a leader and get the buy-in of the team around them. Here are the skills you’ll need to join our team: 1) Highly organized and detail oriented; 2) Exceptional leadership and communication skills; 3) a minimum of five years of programming experience in PPM markets with history of success; 4) High level of expertise with research and ratings data; 5) Proficiency with RCS Selector, Adobe Audition, Nielsen software, and all social media platforms; 6) A deep understanding of the radio industry’s digital transformation; 7) Recruitment and Coaching skills — you will assist in hiring, training and coaching the company’s Brand Managers and air personalities; 8) the ability to work collaboratively within departments, including the engineering, sales and digital departments to help enhance the company’s profile and product.
