Tommy JamesRock legend Tommy James recently spent some quality time at iHeartMedia Classic Rock WNNJ (The Tri State’s Rock Station)/Sussex, NJ. That’s Tommy (center), skillfully bookended by iHeartMedia Tri-State Market President Chuck Benfer (left) and SVP of Programming Gary Cee (right) seconds after he walked through the front door on Thursday, March 14.

During his visit, James discussed his career and the forthcoming motion picture based on his book, Me, The Mob and The Music. As a special treat, James and his longtime guitarist Jonathan Ashe performed a bunch of his hits, including “Draggin’ the Line,” “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” “Crimson and Clover,” “Hanky Panky” and “I Think We’re Alone Now” for 70 listeners in the station’s corporately sponsored Franklin-Sussex Auto Mall Performance Studio. And the fun doesn’t stop there — Tommy will be inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame later this year by Steve Van Zandt of the E Street Band.
