Racist Comments End Badly In Buffalo

• In the wake of racist comments that unsurprisingly blew up into a national outrage (see TMZ’s coverage), Cumulus Classic Rock WGRF (97 Rock)/Buffalo, NY has fired Morning Bull co-host Rob Lederman and suspended the rest of the show’s on-air staff following comments made during Wednesday’s show that compared their toast preferences to the skin color of various Black female celebrities, including Serena Williams, Halle Berry and Gayle King. Needless to say, the backlash was swift and intense.

By late Wednesday, Lederman had been terminated and the rest of the show’s cast members had been suspended. In a statement sent to RAMP, a Cumulus spokesperson said, “Cumulus Media operates from a clearly-defined set of programming principles and there is no question that Rob Lederman’s comments made on The Morning Bull Show are in direct violation of those principles. We swiftly terminated him and suspended the remainder of the show’s on-air talent. We apologize, and deeply regret the incident.”

According to WGRZ-TV/Buffalo, Morning Bull co-host Rich “The Bull” Gaenzler was also fired from his side gig as an in-arena host for Pegula Sports & Entertainment, and Roswell Park cancer treatment center has severed ties with 97 Rock and has canceled future advertising. Stay tuned for further developments.
