• Cumulus Media brought a new Top 40 station to Columbus-Starkville, MS yesterday as WNMQ, formerly 103.1 The Team, dropped its simulcast of CBS Sports Radio and flipped to Q103.1 FM, “The Golden Triangle’s Hit Music.” CBS Sports Radio remains on sister WSSO-AM. In other news, Q103.1 launched with 5,000 songs, commercial-free, and the syndicated The Bert Show debuts in mornings on August 14.

VP/Market Manager Pat Galloway said, “The Columbus-Starkville area is home to the Mississippi Bulldogs, and it’s only right that this community and the students of Mississippi State University have a Top 40 radio station playing the music they love so much. Millennials and Gen-Z represent nearly half of the population here, and now they have their own station in the Golden Triangle. Q103.1 will fill a void in the market and will be an incredible addition to Columbus-Starkville radio!” Chris Stryker, Director of Operations & Programming for Columbus-Starkville, added, “We are very excited to bring hit music to the Golden Triangle airwaves and to give our listeners something new and fun.”
