Alpha Acquires WFTL & WMEN

Alpha Media’s West Palm Beach cluster has expanded by two, as the company formally announces the purchase of News-Talk 850 WFTL-AM and 640 Sports-Talk WMEN-AM.

A clearly delighted Alpha Media Chairman Larry Wilson commented, “We are delighted to add WFTL and WMEN to our dynamic group of stations in South Florida. [SVP/Market Manager] Elizabeth Hamma and her outstanding team are the best in the business and this acquisition represents our confidence in their ability to continue to dominate the Palm Beach market.”

Hamma remarked, “We are extremely proud to officially welcome News Talk 850 WFTL and 640 Sports WMEN to our vibrant portfolio. This acquisition gives us the opportunity to meet the large demand for news and sports in South Florida with strong local brands that provide our advertisers with additional choices to drive results.” WFTL and WMEN join existing Alpha Media stations Hot AC WRMF, AC WEAT (Sunny 107.9), Country WIRK, Urban AC WMBX (X102.3), and Hip Hop WMBX-HD2 (Beatz 96.3).
