Confronting A Sad New Reality

• Today, Scripps News-Talk WTMJ/Milwaukee will address the front-burner issue of school safety in the wake of last week’s tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL. WTMJ News presents a “Community Conversation” on the safety of the city’s local schools. The one-hour special will air this afternoon from 3-4pm and serve as a forum for listeners and community leaders to discuss last week’s shooting and how local schools are taking action to keep local students safe.

“WTMJ is Wisconsin’s Radio Station, and we’re honored to provide an on-air town hall for local leaders to discuss the importance of securing area schools,” said Eric Brooks, WTMJ Director of Programming and News. “It’s our duty to provide a forum on such an important subject which has taken on added urgency following the Parkland shootings.” WTMJ hosts John Mercure and Melissa Barclay will moderate the special, which will feature several special guests. The special will be carried on-air, streamed at WTMJ.com and on Facebook Live at Facebook.com/620wtmj.
