Machine Ready To Be Rebuilt?

• We are all breathlessly awaiting whatever changes are surely coming to Entercom’s embattled Sports-Talk-Rock-Comedy hybrid KEGY (97.3 The Machine)/San Diego — for the first time since the station launched, its on-air schedule has been scrubbed of any specific personality mentions — most notably, Kevin Klein Live.

Instead, the on-air schedule on the new radio flagship of the San Diego Padres — as of now — lists only “Rock & Comedy” each day at 12:00am, along with listings for The Mens Room and Dan Sileo on demand.

For his part, no-show morning host Kevin Klein has been notably silent on social media since his initial apology nearly two weeks ago, although we couldn’t help but notice that Klein changed the cover page of his Twitter feed to an image of First Amendment, for what that’s worth. We are also keeping close tabs on what is rumored to be a rebranding of the station to 97.3 The Fan. Stay tuned.
