Remembering Bill Feingold

• Palm Springs radio icon “Bulldog” Bill Feingold, morning anchor on Alpha Media News-Talk KNWZ (94.3 & 104.7 KNEWS), passed away early Friday morning, March 6, after a short battle with Stage IV liver cancer. He was 70 years old. Feingold was diagnosed in August 2019 and had recently returned to the air after a short medical leave to undergo chemotherapy.

Feingold’s morning co-host Kevin Holmes said, “Bulldog was like an older brother to me and one of my closest friends. After he received his star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars and was back from his leave, I thought he could beat this, but in the last two weeks, I could tell the disease was taking a huge physical toll on him.”

Feingold and Holmes debuted with an evening show on KNEWS in 2004, and in 2012 were promoted into the high-profile morning shift. “I’m shocked and saddened to have lost my friend,” Holmes said. “I learned from Bill early on in my career that our listeners really are part of our family, and I’m just as sad for them, too.”

A native of New York, Feingold moved to Palm Springs from Los Angeles in 2000. He served on the Palm Springs Human Rights Committee for four years and was very active in local politics. Last October Feingold was awarded with the 432nd star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars. Memorial services are pending, and details will be broadcast on KNEWS and posted at KnewsRadio.com when available.
