Bob & The Showgram Hits Big 2-5

It was back on May 31 when we first reported that Bob Dumas, the “Bob” portion of Bob and The Showgram on iHeartMedia Top 40 WDCG (G105)/Raleigh had inked a new three-year contract. That celebration continued last Thursday as Dumas reached an impressive radio milestone — his 25th anniversary on G105.

Showgram co-host Erica DeLong and Producer Brody Smith made sure that Bob felt like a king (complete with realistic crown) as special guests dropped by or called in to share their best wishes. To solidify this very special achievement, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper declared July 6, 2017 as “Bob Dumas Day,” and Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane stopped by pay tribute in person.

Other well-wishers included many of Bob’s former colleagues, like ex-G105 PD Randi West, who flew in from Tampa for the occasion, and former OM Chris Shebel, who called in from Portland; Tommy Owen, Director of The Bert Show, Ken Spitzer, and the requisite number of local TV reporters. There was even some love emanating from the Big Cheese himself, iHeartMedia Chairman & CEO Bob Pittman, who sent Dumas a personal video greeting. Afterward, a gratified Dumas remarked, “It was a special day, thank you all so much! Now here’s to 25 more!”
