Maney, Roy & LauRen Never Leaving

• Looks like three years of “double secret probation” is finally over for the Maney, Roy & LauRen Morning Show, as Beasley Top 40 WNKS (Kiss 95.1)/Charlotte announced the trio has been extended via a lucrative new, multi-year deal.

The show was assembled and launched in February 2015 using a scientifically formulated blend of existing and new personalities — Maney (center) was a three-year Kiss vet and the lone holdover from the previous morning show, as his former co-hosts Cassiday Proctor and Drex left to do mornings at WSTR (Star 94.1)/Atlanta. LauRen Merola (right) crossed the street from WZGV (730 ESPN Radio). She previously did TV in Pittsburgh and talk radio on WINZ/Miami.

Roy Brown (left) joined the show from WXLK (K92)/Roanoke, VA. At the time we noted that Brown had never been on an airplane, had never been to a NASCAR race and had never been in a building higher than five stories… Hopefully at least one of those facts has changed since then…

Kiss OM/PD John Reynolds (pictured here showing Roy where to sign), said, “We assembled this show around three very talented individuals that didn’t know each other… but I knew that when I heard them audition together, I heard magic! They have become true friends off the air and that relationship brings out a special fresh energy on-air in Charlotte morning radio and has brought them No. 1 ratings in the market. I couldn’t be prouder of them or happier for them.”

Maney commented, “We are excited to be waking up Charlotte for many years to come.” Brown added, “It’s shocking that anyone would want to renew this silly show, but our fans are the best. They are very passionate about the show.” LauRen said, “It’s an honor that our listeners and Beasley Media Group believe in us. We can’t thank Bill Schoening and John Reynolds enough for supporting us since the very beginning, and we are excited about our show’s future.”
